Illinois health officials reported 1,108 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus and an additional 43 deaths in the last day, along with more than 76,000 vaccines administered.
The reported new cases of coronavirus bring the state to 1,374,565 cases since the pandemic began and bring the total death toll to 22,599, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, 59,314 coronavirus test samples were returned to state laboratories, with more than 24 million performed during the pandemic.
The statewide positivity rate rose slightly to 2.3% of all tests that tested positive, and the positivity rate of people tested in the last seven remained at 2.8%, according to IDPH data.
The state reported 76,652 vaccines administered on the last day, according to the latest data, and brought the average of seven days of vaccines administered to 74,487 doses.
Since Friday, the state has administered more than 10.8 million doses of coronavirus vaccine during the pandemic, with 64% of Illinois adults receiving at least one dose and 47% fully vaccinated.
At midnight, 1,401 patients were hospitalized due to COVID. Of these patients, 347 are in ICU beds and 202 are currently in state ventilators.
