Illinois health officials reported 1,513 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus and an additional 47 deaths in the last day, along with more than 92,000 vaccines administered.
The reported new cases of coronavirus bring the state total to 1,365,020 cases since the pandemic began and bring the total death toll to 22,415, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, 83,856 coronavirus testing samples were returned to state laboratories, with more than 23.7 million now performed during the pandemic.
The statewide positivity rate remained at 2.5% of all tests that gave positive results, and the positivity rate of people tested in the last seven days fell to 2.9%, according to IDPH data.
The state reported 92,923 vaccines administered on the last day, according to the latest data, and brought the seven-day rotating average of vaccines administered to 70,658 doses.
Since Friday, the state has administered more than 10.3 million doses of coronavirus vaccine during the pandemic.
At midnight, 1,581 patients were hospitalized due to COVID. Of these patients, 409 are in ICU beds and 228 are currently in state ventilators.
