It has been three weeks since Will Smith announced he was embarking on a body transformation journey to get ripped after getting into the “worst shape” of his life, which led to several of his famous friends deciding that they wanted to get involved too. Among them was Black-ish actor Anthony Anderson, who pledged his commitment to shed his dad bod by posting a shirtless “before” photo to Instagram.
“12 weeks! No trainers! All on our own?! Challenge accepted,” he wrote.
During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, Anderson provided a brief update on his progress in the ‘Big Willie Challenge’, which he has since redubbed ‘Grown Men Sexy’.
“The challenge is just to transform that dad bod, that Covid bod, back into something that’s healthy,” he explained. “We’ve all taken this 12-week challenge that Will threw out there, and a bunch of us are on the bandwagon, and that’s what it is. It’s just about being healthy. It’s called Grown Men Sexy.”
Anderson proudly added that, less than three weeks into his Grown Men Sexy transformation, he has already lost 8 pounds. “I’m 218 right now,” he said. “I’m trying to get down to 200.”
That “bunch” of men who are also participating include rapper and producer Dr. Dre, actor Marlon Wayans, comedian Chris Spencer, and actor Flex Alexander, each of whom has their own goals that they’re pursuing over the three months, including both losing fat and building muscle.
