LANSING – Conservative commentator Tudor Dixon announced Thursday that he is running for Michigan in the 2022 election.
Dixon, who presents himself as a Republican, hosts “America’s Voice Live” on weekday afternoons on the “Real America’s Voice” cable network. As of Thursday morning he had not filed any organizational statement with the Michigan Secretary of State.
“I’m excited to announce that I’m running for governor to get Michigan back on track,” Muskegon County’s Dixon said on Twitter.
“We will restore our state and help the Michiganders build their American dream once again! Let’s do Michigan!”
Dixon, who was not immediately available for an interview, is a married mother of four, a cancer survivor and a television news presenter, according to her website. He worked in the steel industry for nearly ten years before pursuing a career in public relations and media, he said.
Like most of the handful of Republican candidates who have announced they are running for president, Dixon criticizes the restrictions on business and other activities that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat expected to seek a second term, ordered in response to the coronavirus pandemic that began in March 2020.
“We need to free Michiganders from the closures and unleash them to innovate, work and reap the fruits of their labor,” Dixon said. “We need to accelerate our students’ learning, not slow down and slow down their education. We need to focus on solving big problems, such as reducing crime, increasing economic opportunities for everyone, and making the high-quality healthcare is more affordable and accessible. “
Dixon joins a camp that includes chiropractor Garrett Soldano, who protested the Whitmer home stay order from April 2020 and says he is concerned about the travels of Whitmer and his top aides. at a time when Michiganders are being warned against travel and restrictions have been set against nursing. home visits.
It is understandable that Whitmer wanted to visit his elderly father in Florida, but “there are many families who did not have this opportunity,” said Soldano, who said he lives in Mattawan but has a chiropractic practice in Kalamazoo.
Asked if he believes the 2020 presidential election was set, Soldano said state measures such as “sending unsolicited votes” made the potential for fraud much greater, although “I’m still waiting for this test to come out “. However, Michigan never sent unsolicited votes. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson sent all registered voters requests for absentee voting.
