Evangeline Lilly is once again preparing to play superhero Hope Van Dyne in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But in addition to recently sharing the early stages of her “Wasp Workout” on social media, the actress may also have missed an important spoiler for the film.
Recently, Lilly posted a photo of the cover of the Quantumania script on her Instagram page and tagged some of her co-stars. This includes actors we already knew had to appear, such as the protagonists of the franchise Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. It also included newcomers like Kathryn Newton, who will play the adult version of Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie after this five-year jump on Endgame, and Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors as the evil Kang the Conqueror.
But one name stood out for eagle-eyed MCU fans: Corey Stoll.
Stoll previously played Darren Cross in the first Ant-Man movie in 2015. He was the antagonist of this movie and used stolen Pym particles to create his own Ant-Man costume, becoming in the supervillain Yellowjacket. He disappeared at the end of the film and has not been seen on the MCU since.
Since then, Lilly has suppressed Instagram posting, giving confidence to the theory that Stoll will definitely return as Yellowjacket to some extent.
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Marvel Studios has recovered a recurring bad boy — Loki is about to embark on his own solo adventure series at Disney +, despite having died several times in the screen — but it remains to be seen whether Yellowjacket will play a central role in the film or appear as an Easter egg.
