ChiroCongress, the F4CP and state chiropractic associations across the nation, along with their members, will support mental health in local communities by encouraging people to donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and / or participate in the NAMIWalks Day Hopefully Saturday 22 May.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder have been reported in 4 out of 10 adults in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic, a rise of 1 in 10 adults who reported these symptoms during the first half of 2019. In addition, a July 2020 the survey found specific negative impacts on adult mental health and well-being due to pandemic stress, including:
- Difficulty sleeping (36%)
- Difficulty eating (32%)
- Increases in alcohol consumption or substance use (12%)
- Worsening of chronic conditions (12%).
Chiropractic (DC) physicians are trained to diagnose, assess, and manage disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system and general health problems, as well as advise them on nutrition and lifestyle advice to promote optimal well-being.
