MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mon Health OB / GYN women’s care team has welcomed two new highly qualified and experienced professional nurses to their team from Monday 24 May.
Deborah Boyer, NP, and Amy Kitzmiller, NP will encourage care that patients continue to receive high-quality, close-to-home Mon Health from providers they know and trust.
“It feels great,” Boyer said. “I am very excited today has been our first day. Although we work from home making our guidance materials, some of them. The Mon Health obstetrics / gynecology team has an exceptional reputation and I am very excited to get on board. ”
Kitzmiller said she also had training on the first day and was excited to join a team with such a good reputation.

Kitzmiller and Boyer will focus primarily on gynecological services. That said, they said, among other things, they will focus on things like visits from well-to-do women, annual exams, and managing common gynecological problems.
They will approach their new roles with a lot of experience.
According to a statement, Kitzmiller brings impressive baggage and skills to Mon Health. She graduated from WVU with the BSN before completing the master’s / certification program in professional nursing for women’s health at the University of Pittsburgh.
For 18 years, Kitzmiller practiced at a local gynecology center and previously provided obstetrics and gynecological care in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. She and her husband Tom have three children. As a native of Morgantown, she wants to start her new role.
Boyer joins Mon Health from a local gynecology center. She received her BSN and MSN from West Virginia University and has worked at WVU Hospitals as a practicing nurse and staff nurse. She has also been a nurse at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
Boyer has amassed several honors throughout his career, including the WVU School of Nursing Faculty Award, Theta Tau Pinnacle Sigma Award for Research Use, WVUH Excellence in Practice nursing, WVUH Excellence in Nursing Research, WVUH Project Nursing Fellowship-Bladder Scanner, and WVUH Excellence in Precepting.
Boyer and Kitzmiller have worked together in the past and have said they hope to work together again. The two not only share a work history, but a philosophy about women’s education.
“This is definitely important,” Boyer said. “I think education is really the key because a lot of women may not know about the different screening guidelines and the things they should keep in mind, and we can help them educate them so that they can be their self. healthier. “
“We motivate patients to see us every year, we explain to them the importance of routine health care,” he said. “And along with our routine visits, many times, we are diverting them to other providers to make sure they are cared for comprehensively.”
