Boxing has been a beloved workout for celebrities for many years, and Shay Mitchell is everything. The 34-year-old Heiresses star has just posted a new video on Instagram about herself crushing a boxing workout, and it’s seriously awesome.
Shay said there is a “comeback” in a series of Instagram stories. In the first clip, a shot of an empty boxing ring is seen. In the next, Shay goes to blueprints professional boxing coach Julian Chua. He throws punches, ducks and tissues at an intense pace that makes it clear he came to play.
“Let’s do this,” he wrote next, followed by “therapy for me.” I mean … wow.
While it’s easy to see that Shay has some serious skills in the ring, it’s also hard to miss the fact that he looks incredibly fit. She has toned legs, nailed arms and loves training.
Shay, who welcomed her daughter Atlas in 2019, and opened up to women’s health about her fitness after having her baby. In January, Shay and her friend Stephanie Shepherd pledged to do five days a week for four weeks as part of a partnership with the app, Openfit.

“It changed everything,” Shay said. “I had a lot more energy; I no longer have five cups of coffee. I may sound like a preacher when I talk about it, but it totally changed my year. “

During that time, coach Kelsey Heenan led Shay and Stephanie through a mix of cardio and strength training that was different every day. They did HIIT, EMOM workouts (every minute to minute), squat, lift their arms and legs, and squat. Now, he says, he is able to do push-ups.
Shay also likes to complement his workouts with rope jumps or walks and, you know, boxing as a pro.

Shay said he likes to try “healthy” eating, but it’s an ongoing job. “I wish I could say it was all quinoa, salmon and asparagus, but it’s not,” he said.
Instead, Shay said he drinks lemon water in the morning, followed by a breakfast quesadilla that includes eggs, spinach, cheese and olive oil. He picks fruit around 11 in the morning and eats soup. Then cheese, vegetables and a glass of wine around 4pm and dinner around 6:30 with a balance of starch and vegetables.
Clearly it is working for her.
