CONWAY: Residents are encouraged to bring questions about articles, procedures, and definitions about annual city meeting orders to a pre-city discussion discussion on Monday, May 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the Conway Grammar School.
According to a press release from Planning Board member Mary McClintock, the evening is an opportunity for informal, non-partisan debate and without the time pressure that often participates in the municipal meeting itself. The intent of the meeting is to help residents have well-informed voters and have some time to think about what is being proposed at the June 5 annual municipal meeting.
There will also be an opportunity for attendees to meet with candidates running for municipal office in the June 10 election, according to the statement.
“These meetings really help me better understand what we have to decide at Town Meeting,” McClintock said in the statement. “I really missed the discussion before last year’s city meeting. I will be at this event with two masks and I would like to hear from other people in Conway about what they think of the articles of the city meeting ”.
Residents are advised to have information on specific warranty items to bring brochures.
Participants should wear a facial covering, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing. According to the statement, organizers are also exploring options to broadcast the event online or produce a recording. Residents are encouraged to check the city’s website closest to the event for information on remote options.
