WASHINGTON, May 26, 2021 / PRNewswire / – A new Zogby Strategies survey conducted in conjunction with Children’s Health Defense (CHD) reveals an emerging narrative around COVID-19.
At a hearing in the U.S. Senate last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed that just over half and 60% of NIH employees had received the COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Rochelle Walensky agreed that a similar percentage of CDC employees had received the vaccine.
The results of a May 20 a nationwide poll of 1,011 likely voters shows that while Fauci has 60% confidence (combining “trust a lot” and “trust a little”), there is a substantial sense of anger and mistrust toward institutions like the National Institutes of Health (NIH)) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
When asked which statement is closest to the opinion of survey participants, knowing that approximately half of CDC and NIH employees have not been vaccinated, just under four in 10 (38% ) agreed that the news “infuriates and sends the message that even experts are concerned about the vaccine” against 46% which “gives them the benefit of the doubt.”
More than a quarter (28%) of Democrats, half of Republicans (50%) and more than a third (36%) of independent voters agreed that the news is “infuriating and sends the message. . on the vaccine “, emphasizing that the prospects are widespread. As for other cohorts, 46% of voters ages 18 to 29 found the news “outrageous,” as did 58% of Hispanics, by far the highest groups among their respective stretches.
The poll also investigated voters on agency seizures, when large companies pledge federal regulatory agencies such as the NIH and CDC to obtain financial benefits on the public good. Voters were asked what vision approached theirs: “agency capture is real and a serious threat to our democracy” versus “agency capture is overflowing …”
A large majority (57%) agree that capturing agencies is “real and poses a serious threat to our democracy” against 20% who believe the concept is “overflowing”.
“This kind of mistrust and anger towards the government cannot be easily ruled out,” says the CHD president. Mary Holland. “That about half of NIH and CDC employees are unwilling to get vaccinated voluntarily is very much talked about. Agency capture is real and agency employees know it. This country needs health agencies to serve the people, not Big Pharma. “
The online survey generates a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points. Subgroups have a higher margin of error.
